this is the type of ferry we take from our mainland city to hong kong. this is the hong kong side. it costs something like $20/ticket roundtrip, but more if one way, w/o a family discount. next time we're spending more time taking the cheap land route-bus/taxi.

anyone know how to change the order of these pics? i can't figure it out! they're so out of chronological order, and that drives me NUTS! this is the world's longest outdoor escalator system! it goes for blocks and blocks. locals use it for daily transportation. we learned by error that it goes down only till 10am, then up the rest of the day. by up, i mean up the hills. so very many stairs w/o it!
this guy was a sight. you can't see it, but his toenails should've been in a magazine. so long and curly. his clothes are made from rags.
