my sunday school helpers. i teach once/month.
they love my crazy style of teaching! (i think!)

he actually asked if i could take some pics of him. here he's my angel.

john (the guy) wanted a pic in front of our kitchen artwork.
some friends from church.

not the greatest pic, i know, but to see the view from "Nanshan" mtn, a hike beg. like 3 blocks from our apt. not mtn like colorado, but still quite a hike.
our bldg. is the middle tall tower you see in the foreground. (bottom)

a lookout tower.

another of essentially the same view.
the white stick in the background is actually the bridge across the bay into hong kong territory.

the "hike" was really a step class outdoors. it was literally like 1000 steps to the top. many women were actually wearing heels-no problem! me, i'm huffing/puffing...

"Hakka" dwellings. these people lived where we live today.

limestone peaks of Guilin, where i want to go on our next excursion.
the most famous chinese scenery.

black gorge?

the hanging monastery. amazing history to this.

terracotta soldiers of Xian
terracotta soldiers in Xian

across the bay is the "new territories" of hong kong, but not city hong kong-
rugged lesser lived in/known land. to get to real hong kong, it takes just under an hour by expensive ferry, or the cheap, but long/arduous journey by combo of bus, taxi, subway.

some of shenzhen

the great wall wound its way through 1/2 the park. pretty cool

i can say w/ certainty: the potola palace in Tibet.

largest buddha in the world

i have no idea what most of these really are. i wasn't gonna write everything down!

all at "Splendid China", a theme park like "windows of the world" (lots of pics of that earlier)
shows famous places, model-sized so you can "see china in a day"
some think it's cheesy. i like it.
