not the nicest beach, but serves its purpose for us just fine.

little bird-lukey.

forgot sunscreen this day. oh, did we pay for it!

our tiny room...after our 1st HK hotel, i learned to ask for a double + twin!

ever seen anything like this? we hadn't!
barely big enough to sit in for a bath-bumping your knees when getting in & out...not the most pleasant bathing experience...the 3 boys loved it-ian even says someday he wants one.
(like his cave-room among other things!)

Stanley Market. a tourist buzz place, but way overpriced and very crowded.

stanley main beach.

we planned to eat here, but it was fancy and expensive. they sat us down and while getting our waters (or tea), we agreed to hi-tail it out of there quick! we felt bad, but...

this was on the boat-very fresh, but locals think it's no better than the seafood on the street.

the way some unfortunate hong konger's actually live

this is aberdeen, so part of hong kong island, but not the hong kong you see in most pics.
the other side of the island.

we've been told of old men who take their pet birds out for air, but it's usually early in the morning...but we did see these 2. they hang them at parks & let them sing to each other. quite sweet. something i could see my grampa bert doing. in fact, a lot of the chinese old men remind me of him-quiet and sweet-very peaceful.

looking towards another island off the coast.
our hotel restaurant in aberdeen, an area of south hong kong. the hotel was TINY in every aspect-rooms, restaurant, bathrooms, lobby. worse than NYC! love the red floors & decor tho'! food was cheap for hong kong "western" food: a good dinner entre was like 30HKD=$3.50. lunch even cheaper. each breakfast buffet was =$2.75 if it were central "business" hong kong, it would've been twice that.

typical buddist shrine on the street.

"jumbo" floating restaurant-the name, although it IS quite large!

i like the contrast of new race-boat and old "junk" or "sampan".

we took a "junk" around the harbour-paid too much $, but still only $20 for us all to go.

it took elliot 5 tries to get this picture centered, w/o cutting half my body off! many chinese people were looking at us strangely. they laugh when i engage them, though!

moses.

this was supposed to be the "grand canyon", but it looks a little too "tropical"!
i accidently reduced too small, but you can still see the water ride at the bottom.

did you guess niagra falls?

these people didn't really come dressed like this. you could rent costumes to take pics.

he's carving our chinese names into stamps for us. i haggled a decent deal from him-less half the price they asked, which is very common!

we bought a coconut to drink for 10RMB, about $1.50. elliot wanted to test to see if it floated, in the little river in "europe"...so we took pics of the coconut wherever it "washed up". we pretended like we didn't know where it came from!

a common little boy hairstyle. so cute.

these are all at one of china's biggest theme parks: Window of the World! it's an amazing place w/ huge model replicas of famous buildings. places we may never see in real life, but we saw 'em here! i'm only posting less than half-i took over 100 pics in one day!

obviously the "squatty-potty" i've told many about...most times w/ no toilet paper, and usually dirty like this. and this is a nice place!

can you tell what all these are? i could look them all up, but i'll be lazy and leave you guessing!
